According to VCG , Nintendo has announced that it is planning to acquire Dynamo Pictures. In the past, Dynamo Pictures has produced CGs for a number of movies and TV shows such as Yuri on Ice, Aya and the Witch and the second season of Netflix’s Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045.
While it’s likely that this acquisition will bring in more Nintendo cartoons and TV series in the future, it’s worth knowing that Dynamo also specializes in developing visual content for games. The company worked on CG in Final Fantasy XIII-2 and has provided motion capture for titles like Death Stranding, Nier Replicant, Monster Hunter World, and Persona 5 .
The company has also worked with Nintendo in the past, helping with CG cutscenes in Metroid: Other M and producing a series of Pikmin short films in collaboration with Shigeru Miyamoto for display on the Wii U and 3DS.
The plan to change its name to Nintendo Pictures should not be confused with Nintendo Studios, which recently appeared on the copyright list for the upcoming Super Mario animated film .
While the listing doesn’t provide any further information about the company, it looks like Nintendo Studios could be a new subsidiary created by Nintendo to handle future visual entertainment like movies or shows. television program.
